So today I had my regular OB appointment with Dr. Chua. Perfect timing since I wanted to ask about the inconclusive result. She was comforting, but couldn’t really provide me too much more information as she does not specialize in these types of test. I appreciated our talk and it made me feel better overall, but I needed more details.
I was working from home so I let Eric know that I would very much like to speak to his dad if that was okay. He immediately emailed us both to connect us. Dr. Korotkin then offered me his phone number . I called and left him a message. I figured he was busy and would get back to me later that day or evening. After all, I’m not a real patient.
Maybe within an hour, he called me back. I quickly answered and we talked it through.
So this test is no different than a home pregnancy test in that you will have more fetal DNA in your blood as time progresses. Its not uncommon to get an inconclusive. In fact some women never get a conclusive result. He said that if my Nuchal scan was good that I was likely fine. He recommended I re-take teh test when they offer it. And also go with the same company. There are about 5 out there that do this. He recommended that because he is on their advisory board and can take a peek behind the scenes if needed for me.
Feeling better already.
